Sir Christopher Wren

Before today's skyscrapers, London's skyline was largely the creation of a single genius, Sir Christopher Wren (1632-1723), who had had only six months of architectural training in Paris. Wren was a celebrated mathematician, but today is remembered as an architect.
Among the 52 London churches he created from 1670 to 1711 was the great St. Paul's Cathedral.
